Trade Show 2010 and some of our favourites

Dayna's Doors enjoyed their two trade shows this year. The first one we attended was in Chilliwack at the big Heritage (RED) Barn where we felt so welcomed by the community. We really enjoyed our time, talking to people and learning about their renovation or building needs. A couple weekends later we entered the Abbotsford trade show at the Tradex center and also met a lot of people who had great ideas and stories. If you have a story please call us 604-504-2510 or simply send us an e-mail to daynasd@gmail.com.

Terrascape had a wonderful display in the home and garden show  (picture to the right and above) where a beautiful Knotty Alder Exterior door from Dayna's Doors was used. This is our second show display working with Terrascape they have a wonderful following and are so nice to work with. We have heard wonderful things about this company and wish them well in the future. We also want to thank them for using our door in their beautiful garden display. For more information on this company check out their website http://www.terrascapebc.ca.

We have enjoyed working with many other companies that were also at the show including Wizard Screen where Charlie Lesky http://www.wizardindustries.com 604-825-8477 www.mainlandhomecomforts.com. Their screens are a great addition to one of our French doors or any exterior door for that matter. Bug season is coming and so is the beautiful weather. The first step is to purchase some french doors that will swing out into the garden or into the home, then get some wizard screens that we just love to keep out the bugs and bring in the warmth and beauty!

Another of our favourites are some beautiful kitchen cabinets that are hand made from Country Cabinets, contact nathan@countrycabinets.ca for more information.

Tydcarpentry is one of our favourite finishing carpenters that helps out Dayna's Doors by installing doors, making custom cabinets with Country Cabinets, built ins, laying flooring or putting up mouldings, whatever his task he does anything with perfection! Tyson can get really busy and needs to be booked in advance don't wait until the last minute! Tyson can be reached at 778-878-6981 tydcarpentry@hotmail.com.

There were many more exhibitors that I will save for another day, until then take care and start dreaming about your renovation or home and how we can help you achieve that goal!

A big thank you to everyone!

French Doors

A quick and easy way to increase the beauty and access to a patio or deck is by replacing sliding doors ( You know the ones that are always getting stuck and driving you crazy....) with active swinging double French Doors.

In this picture to the left we have a Stain Grade Fiberglass Oak design double 3/0 French Doors Inswinging prehung on hemlock jamb 6 9/16 Left Hand Active. ( Rough opening must be at least 74 1/4 wide) These are ready to be picked up at the shop!

The glass featured in this door is a sealed double pane energy efficient LOW-E, which helps protects us from harmful UV rays that so easily pass through clear openings.

This door unit will look nice stained up especially if you have a home finished in wood shingles, or sleek design or maybe for a country cabin. No matter what the home style this is a large improvement or feature to any home. This will help you enjoy the outdoors, indoors all through the year.

Through the month of February 2010, Dayna's Doors is offering 20% off the original price. This applies for all prehung finished units in store singles or doubles.

You must act quickly as Springtime is nearing and you will obviously want to have these installed ready to use to enjoy the new view!

Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) Ends February 1, 2010

This goes to all those renovators, do it yourselfers, builders and anybody who wants to do some home fixin'!

The Home Renovation Tax Credit is based on expenses for improvements to your house, condo or cottage. It can be claimed on your 2009 tax return. It ONLY applies to work or goods acquired after January 27, 2009 -January 31, 2009 under an agreement entered after Jan 27, 2009.

Now you are probably thinking well it is almost spring and are therefore concerned about Curb appeal and heading your focus outdoors. Well you are absolutely right! A quick and easy way of changing the feeling and look to a house and into a beautiful home would be done by simply changing your front door!

You can replace the entire unit or simply swap out your door, just like the picture above. This house changed instantly into a home with character by swapping out a paneled door with a beautiful Craftsman door!

There are so many options for home renovating and home improvements, consider swapping out your doors, an instant upgrade would be by replacing old interior hollow core doors with some nice beautiful wood doors. This will not only bring style and character to the home but some peace and quiet!! Wooden doors are not only gorgeous but will reduce the amount of noise in a home. Why replace hollow doors with hollow when you can spend the same amount and get solid doors from Dayna's Doors!

We will replace your doors and frames or simply your doors. Bring in your old doors and we will machine the new doors to match the old ones. We would also love to recycle your old doors, as we do not like to throw things away!

The HRTC aplies to eligible expenses of more than $1,000, but not more than $10,000, resulting in a max non-refundable credit of $1,350. (($10,000 - $1,000) x 15%).

For more information please, please visit http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/hrtc/ ask questions and do some research!

We will help you with your home improvements!

Goodbye to the Pink Forklift

Have you ever heard of a pink forklift? Not many people have, but Dayna's Doors has been rocking it for 3+ years. The pink forklift has become a mascot of sorts, where many  people will tell other people "you can't miss it, it's the shop with the pink forklift!" I have to admit guys and girls look pretty cool when driving this sporty unit!!

The first pink forklift was retired early summer 2008 and donated to a local charity and later donated to a metal recycling yard. This here is a picture of the second pink forklift and she is now being retired. We have been through a lot with her, she has helped us is so many ways. We have loaded many a trucks for shipping all over the world! We will miss her greatly but will warmly welcome a new one to our team!

Stay tuned for the new forklift, will it be pink too?

Craftsfman Door for Santa

Everyone knows that Christmas is coming and guests and parties will start happening. Wouldn't it be wonderful to greet everyone with a new door? Also Santa enjoys newer larger doors since he no longer squeezes through that crazy chimney! I mean really it makes sense, not everyone has a chimney so of course Santa over the years has had to adapt and use the front door!

Craftsman style doors are classic style and timeless for any style or trend. These doors will hold value forever as long as you treat them nicely! We polish our shoes we should do the same 'polishing' for our wooden doors so they too remain nice and polished. Seal all 6 sides to a door, and after a long rainy season it is a great idea to check the bottom, top, face and edges of the doors to ensure they are still sealed and beautiful. If you let things go they..... go! Keep some of the polish/stain nearby so if you need to touch up the doors and maintain you can.

These doors are beautiful and would be perfect for a gift, for you, your home or the loved one that has always wanted that style of door. If not for them do it for Santa!
